Technology and
Engineering
Emillie Melendez and Keianna Alexander
Tasks and duties

A psychologist tasks and duties depends on the field in psychology

they take. For example, a clinical psychologist works to diagnose,
prevent and treat mental disorders. They work along doctors to
determine what is the diagnostics for the particular person.
Significant points

The focus is on the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and

prevention of mental health problems

Psychologists study the intersection of two critical relationships:

one between brain function and behavior, and another between
the environment and behavior.

As scientists, psychologists follow scientific methods, using careful

observation, experimentation, and analysis. But psychologists
also need to be creative in the way they apply scientific findings.
Environment
Some psychologists choose to work independently (conduct their
own research, consult with their clients, or work with their
patients.

Others work as a team, collabing with physicians and social

workers or in school settings to work with students, teachers,
parents and other educators.

Those in private practice often work in evenings and weekends to

accommodate clients.
Training, certifications and other
qualifications needed

A lot of clinical, counseling and research psychologists need a

doctoral degree. Students can complete a Ph.D. in psychology or
Doctor of Psychology degree.

While most graduate programs in psychology are in academic

departments located in university colleges of arts and sciences,
some are located in professional schools of psychology,
education, business, medicine, and engineering.

Summary slide

Everything about psychology overall has had a positive change in

someones life. Psychology one day will take over scientific world and
will change the course of history overtime. At the end of the day, i
feel that psychology is a underlooked field that everyone should take
part in one day.
