Abstract / Summary
The purpose of this activity was to design an
electronic voting machine which will allow
the four board members to cast their ballots
and will display the pass and fail status for
each of their decisions. The board of
directors consists of the president, vice-
president, secretary, and the treasurer. For a
decision to pass, a majority of the board
must vote yes and in the event of a tie, the
presidents vote is the tie breaker.
In the project, AND, OR, and inverter gates
will be used to construct the circuit which will
accomplish to assigned goal.

Conclusions
Many times when a circuit is not
simplified, it can be confusing or
difficult to read. As a result, using
Boolean Algebra and DeMorgans
Laws to simplify a circuit makes it
easier to read and understand. A
simplified logic will also be more
efficient in comparison, as it uses
less gates.
In the unsimplified version of the
circuit, it has 24 AND gates, 7 OR
gates, and 4 Inverters. This in in
comparison with the simplified
version which uses 3 AND gates, 3
OR gates, and no inverters.
