Earliest Known Photograph
A crude camera was used to capture the view from a window at his French estate.

The photo was taken in 1826 or 1827.


Daguerreotype
Definition: photography made by hand with iodine-sensitized silvered plate and mercury vapor.

Invented: 1787
Origins Of The Term Photography
Definition: The origins of the term of photography comes from the greek words meaning light, graph,
representation of lines, and drawing. Which all together is drawing with light

Invented: 1839
Calotype
Definition: talbotype, a process which is paper coated in silver iodide.

Invented: 1841 by William Henry Fox Talbot


Wet Collodion Process
Definition: A process which involves adding soluble iodide to collodion.

Invented: 1851
Color Photography
Definition: photography made by the three-color method, a color ribbon. AKA tartan ribbon.

Invented: 1861
Dry Plate Photography
Definition: Also known as gelatin process, it was a plate which gave a photographic view.

Invented: By Dr. Richard L in 1871


Kodak Roll Film Camera
The Kodak Roll Film Camera was issued an 1881 patent for a roll film holder which he licensed to George Eastman.

This was made between 1881 and 1902.


Kodachrome Film
Kodachrome is a brand name for a non-substantive, color reversal film introduced by Eastman Kodak.

Kodachrome was introduced in 1935.


Polaroid Instant Photography
A type of camera which uses self-developing film to create a chemically developed print shortly after taking the picture.

The polaroid instant photography was made in 1948.


First Digital Camera
Steven Sasson as an engineer at Eastman Kodak invented and built the first electronic camera using a charge-coupled device
image sensor.

The first digital camera was made in 1975.


Most Modern Camera
A digital camera is something that produces digital images that can be stored in a computer, displayed on a screen and printed.

The most modern digital camera is the Nikon D7200 made in 2017.
