 So what is it?
The emergence and subsequent dominance
of technology has led to a new form of
textuality.
One of its key features is anonymous, social
and multiple authorship.
In its pure form the digimodernist text
permits the reader or viewer to intervene
textually, physically to make the text, to add
visible content or tangibly shape narrative
development. (Digimodernism 2009)
 Digimodernism is the successor to
pomo.
Emerging in the mid-late 1990s, it
gradually eclipsed it as the dominant
cultural, technological, social and
political expression of our times.
In some ways digimodernism is a
reaction against pomo it can have
the traits of earnestness and the
apparently real.
 In pomo the audience read, watched
and listened as before. In
digimodernism, the audience phones,
clicks, presses, surfs, chooses, moves
and downloads.
Whereas pomo questioned reality,
digimodernism defines the real
implicitly as myself, now, interacting
with its texts. Whatever it does or
makes is what is reality.
 Digimodernism is characterised by its
brevity they, by their very nature,
cannot last thus we now have some
applications that try to combat this!
