Guidelines
Code of safe practices

By being safety-conscious at all times, you


will enhance Vestas as a workplace for
yourself and your colleagues.

A turbine implies certain elements of


danger if it is handled without exercising
proper caution.

For safety reasons, at least two competent


persons must be present during a work
procedure.

Technicians must complete all work


assignments in accordance with this safety
document and the applicable work
instruction documents.

All personnel must know and understand


this safety document.

Rules for visitors before arrival

Before visitors arrive on the site, the site/construction manager or
authorized supervisor for the site must be provided with the following
information for each anticipated visitor:

Purpose of visit

The ERP must as a minimum cover the following:

Safety accidents

Fire

Environmental accidents

Turbine incident

Escape routes and rally points

Evacuation and rescue procedures for turbine

Locations of equipment such as: Fire extinguishers, First aid kits, Eyewash stations or
showers, Environmental spill kit, Emergency lighting unit, Rescue devices, Stretcher

Shelters for severe weather events/earthquakes/lightning

The Vestas Control of Hazardous Energy Program roles is structured in six
levels, with each upper level providing expertise and support for the
lower level:

a. Vestas Global Electrical Safety Committee

b. BU Electrical Safety Sub-Committees

d. Lockout Specialist (LOTO Level 3)

e. Person in Charge of the Lockout (LOTO Level 2)

Other changes that affect the risk of the task

If situations should arise where standard procedures cannot be followed,
the following steps must be performed before the work is continued:

- Focus on safety !!
- Stop the work
- Contact the responsible manager -
or your local P&C sustainability department

- Implement plan

- Begin working
