1. EVENT ORGANIZATION:

Events are often staged or hosted by events


organizations, which may be event specific
bodies.
In case of some major events, specific
organisations are formed, such as the
Adelaide Festival Corporation, which was set
up to run the Adelaide festival.

Assist those groups with meeting preparations during the event
Encourage tourists to visit the historic, cultural, and recreational
opportunities the destination offers

Government Agencies:
Many government agencies take responsibility for managing
large events.
Governments operate at federal, state/territory and local
council level.
Organisers of the smaller events would work mainly with
the relevant council, while the major sporting, arts, business
events might work nationally with federal and state bodies.

2. EVENT MANAGEMENT COMPANIES:

Event management companies are


professional groups or individuals that
organize events on a contract basis on behalf
of their clients.
Organise events on behalf of clients on a

3. EVENT INDUSTRY SUPPLIERS:

The growth of a large and complex industry has led


to the formation of a wild range of specialist
suppliers.
These suppliers may work in direct event related
areas, such as staging, sound production, lighting,
audiovisual, production, entertainment and catering.
Party and equipment hire companies can provide
anything from chair covers to scaffolding.

Generally provide these more tangible items,
they also provide operational support such as
information technology and catering.
Known as service provider.
Events service such as catering, cleaning and
waste disposal are highly specialised, and so too
is event security. Some offer several services as
a one-stop shop.

4.VENUES:

Venues management often includes an event


management component whether as part of
the marketing of the venue or as part of the
servicing of event clients.
Usually built environment, such as a banquet
room or sport centre, whereas a site is
generally an outdoor space, such as park at
which the event is held.

The emergence of the industry has also led to the


formation professional association providing
networking, communications and liaison within the
industry, training and accreditation programs,
codes of ethical practice, and lobbying on behalf of
their members.

6. EXTERNAL REGULATORY BODIES:

As noted, contemporary events take place in


an increasingly and complex environment.
A series of government and statutory bodies
are responsible for overseeing the conduct
and safe staging of events, and these bodies
have and integral relationship with the
industry.

There are many events staged by in-house
companies(e.g. A large bank might run product update
for its clients).
Often the external events have a marketing focus and

publicity stunts.
