Workshop

What is it?
Why do we use it?
What is math workshop?

1. Math workshop starts with a short lesson.


2. Then we have independent math time.
M- math with teacher
A- math at your seat
T- technology
H- hands-on math activities
3. We will end with a discussion about the
day's work.
Why do we use math workshop?

We will complete 2 rounds per day.

M- Math with teacher:
Come prepared with pencil and other
materials to the rainbow table
Voice Levels: Listener=0 Participating=2
Expectations: Listen, participate, and be ready
to show what you know
A- At your Seat:
Practice what you learned during the lesson
Voice Level: 0
Computation Check-in: Some answers will be at the
check-in to check for understanding
Expectations: Try your best, show what you know,
use your strategies, be a problem solver
T- Technology:
Log into computer and work the WHOLE time
Voice Level: 0
Expectations: Remember to always be
responsible 21st century learners, continue
working until the round is over
H- Hands-On:
Stay focused on your activity and work hard
the WHOLE time.
Voice Level- Independent: 0 Partners: 1 or 2
Expectations: Treat classmates and materials
with respect, put away quickly and quietly.
