What is BPM?
HPE Business Process Monitor (BPM) proactively identifies application performance and availability
problems before users are impacted
It does so by simulating virtual users performing day-to-day business processes - running pre-recorded
scripts at regular intervals from multiple locations
It supports a broad range of protocols more than 50 protocols that emulate and measure end user
business processes.

Unique Challenges of Managing Multi-tier Applications

Lack of end-to-end visibility across composite applications

Inability to auto discover composite application transaction flows
Inability to correlate across technology boundaries (Java EE/.NET/SAP

Inability to isolate and triage problems

Problems span across multiple technologies (Java EE/.NET/SAP etc)
Problems span across multiple organizational silos

Inability to find root cause across technology stacks

Run-Time Service Model Population

The Run-Time Service Model (RTSM) is a repository storing information on

services, their components (or configuration items), details about
configuration item attributes, the history of each configuration item and
details of the relationships between configuration items. A Configuration
Item (CI) is a component that makes up a part of your IT environment.

HPE Diagnostics populates the model by adding CIs into the RTSM for the
infrastructure information they have including relationships between
Business CIs and infrastructure CIs.

Predictive analytics deployment overview

Predictive analytics is available for customers that have licensed the Ultimate
versions of a data collector.

There is no extra software to install it is part of the APM platform.

All data collector instances for either BPM, RUM or Diagnostics must be
upgraded to Ultimate at the same time.

Each type of data collector can be upgraded independently.

When a data collector is licensed at the Ultimate level then it will send metrics
into the predictive analytics engine and participate in behavior learning
algorithms and could be part of anomalies.
