Astrometry (Ne/Sne and small bodies)
For astrometry, there should be three
(minimal) wellknown-position objects in
the field of view.

Photometry
Accurate measurement of celestial bodys intensity in various
wavelength

1. Absolute photometry: Atmospheric extinctions, transformation

coefficients, zero point, precision photometry, photometric
sequence
2. Differential photometry: Light curves

For differential photometry, there

should be two (minimal) well known
& relatively constant magnitude of
objects in the field of view.

Airmass
When observing a star, the total atmospheric absorption
depends upon the column density of gas along the line of sight.
Away from zenith, the column density of material increases,
and hence so does the absorption.
First approx.: planar atmosphere
(plane parallel) X = sec z (descent for
z <= 60)
For z > 60:
X = sec z 0.0018167(sec z -1)
0.002875(sec z -1)2 0.008083(sec z -1)3
(Bemporad, 1904)
sec = (sin sin + cos cos cos )1

Available at www.ilangainc.com/astroplanner/
Free (limited), to get complete catalogue, one should buy from the
web site
Running under Microsoft windows platform (Windows XP)
4 menus: Observing, Field
of view, Sky, Planning
Planning observation: Specify site, fix date and time, input
objects coordinates, and select telescope (+CCD camera)

Tugas (Deadline: 24 Februari 2017)^
1. Pilih topik pengamatan, teknik pengamatan, tujuan pengamatan*
2. Pilih objek program serta objek pembanding/standar (bila dibutuhkan)**
3. Pilih instrumen yang akan digunakan***
4. Buat diagram ketinggian & massa udara terhadap waktu untuk objek program
serta objek pembanding/standar (bila dibutuhkan).
5. Tentukan waktu eksposure untuk mendapatkan nilai S/N yang dapat diukur****

^ : Jawaban tiap peserta berbeda, seeing Observatorium Bosscha diasumsikan 2

* : Pengamatan dilakukan di Observatorium Bosscha (Long = 107 37 00, Lat = -6 49 53)
** : Tuliskan nama dan informasi objek tersebut
*** : Tuliskan spesifikasi serta parameter turunan dari instrumen yang akan digunakan
**** : khusus spektroskopi, untuk memudahkan, nilai R dapat dihitung dengan persamaan R = /
