STRATEGIC PLAN

MNIF-686 and QTIF-360 wells have been selected for

casing drilling 22 surface hole to establish a learning
curve.
MNIF-686 will be the first well to be casing drilled
with18-5/8 casing and 22 PDC bit. If this technology
is successfully implemented, it will be applied to wells
with trouble zones.
Casing Drilling Technology is an alternative to address
problematic wells i.e. loss circulation/flow, wellbore
instability.

WELL REVIEW
Casing Design: Burst and Tension.
> Circulating pressure.
> Total casing weights/loads.
Hydraulics, ECDs.
Hole cleaning and ECD are critical in smaller annulus loading with
cuttings.
Torque and Drag Analysis.
Higher torque as drilling deeper should not exceed connection torque
rating.
Casing Connections.
Applicable to all connections provided connection torque > drilling
torque. Otherwise torque ring is required.
Buckling and Wear.
Control WOB and RPM will avoid buckle and wear.

PROCEDURES
Drill 22 pilot hole using conventional BHA to 190 (to observe drilling
parameter and hole condition).
Make up FC and PDC while on the rig floor, as follows:
22 EZC606 PDC Casing Drilling Bit.
18-5/8 Float Collar.
One 18-5/8 casing joint.
18-5/8 Float with Baffle Collar.
18-5/8 casing to surface and average make-up torque.
Tag weld first five joints of 18-5/8 casing.
Strap between bit and float collar.
Casing drill 22 hole to 18-5/8 casing point with the following
parameters: WOB: 6-20 klbs; RPM: 20-60; GPM: 800-1000; Press.:
1000 psi; Torque: 6000 - 9000 ft-lbs.
