Core Java / Junit Skill Assessment Model
The Core Java/Junit skill assessment model is split into 2 levels

Level 1 Consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).

Level 2 Case study will be provided for problem solving and also to build
Junit test case

Note:
The total duration of the Skill Based Assessment is 2.5 hours

There is no restriction between the time slots available for MCQ and Case study
sections. Associates can manage the total available duration (2.5hrs) per their
convenience and need.

The technical scope is attached below

Important Please note:

The Skeleton Code with needed VO and Exception classes, business method
signatures will be provided to you to begin the development

Note: The assessment will be based only on the features listed in the attached
sheet.

Core Java version in which you will be assessed Java SE 6

Software which will be provided in the assessment hall for working with the
case study
Eclipse SDE 7.0
JDK 1.6.X

Dos for Core Java/Junit Skill Assessment
You must need to logon to the Toolwire environment for taking up the assessment
Download the skeleton code into the workspace and start the development
Develop the solution as per the requirement and design considerations.
Develop the Junit test cases for the implemented methods as per the given requirements
The solution should be implemented based on the design considerations(Specified in the
Limitations & Constraints section in the Case Study if mentioned). Otherwise candidates will
not be awarded marks.

Note: Associates are given access to manuals and reference materials in advance for
preparing well before profiling.

 Donts for Core Java / Junit Assessment

During the course of assessment, DO NOT close the browser window and do
not click on HOME button/any other link. You can just minimize the browser.
Do not log off the machines while the assessment is in progress
Do not change the skeleton code while you develop the solution. The
package structure / method signatures / visibility should not be altered

Note: Internet access will be provided during assessment.

How to take Core Java / Junit Assessment

Once you enter the Exam Hall, you will be provided with the URL and the
password to take up the exam.
You can take MCQ and Case study in any order.
Download the required skeleton files
Implement the solution for the case study provided.
Test your code with all possible combination of input data.
Make sure that you do not upload the code with compilation error
After solving the problem, zip all the necessary artifacts and upload the zip file in
your assessment portal.

Few of the common mistakes done by associates which can result in the assessment
moving to a not completed status

FAQ
1. Which development environment(IDE) will be provided for the assessment?
SDE 7.0 will be provided using which associates can develop their code.

2. What happens if the associate renames the java file or change the skeleton?
The associates code will not be evaluated since an automated tool is being
used for evaluation.

3. Where will the sample file for input be available?

The sample file will be displayed as a screenshot in the case study. The
associates will have to create the file with their own data as required.

 How you can crack Multiple Choice Questions?

Try to attempt all the questions that you find easy first!
Do not spend too much time in a single question, you
will be able to revisit the question later
If you need to try a question in your IDE before
answering please go ahead and do it

 How you can crack Case Study?

Read the requirement/case study document carefully.

Follow the design considerations provided in the
requirement/case study document
Ensure you test your program with various functional,
implicit and negative test scenarios.
Do not submit the solution files with errors*.

* Note that once you log off, the code in the assessment environment (VDI/VM) will be
refreshed/cleaned and cannot be retrieved back so take care!
