INTRODUCTION

Andhra bank was registered on 20th


November 1923 and commenced business
on 28th November 1923 with paid up
capital of Rs.1.00 lakh and unauthorized
capital of Rs.10.00 lakhs.
It was nationalized on 15th April 1980
Till now it has about 1544 branches
covering 23 states and 3 union territories.

It was founded by the eminent freedom fighter

Company profile
 Bank has achieved a Total Business of
Rs. 1,17,899Crs as on 31-12-2009
against Rs.95822 Crs as on 31-12-2008, with a
growth of 23.04%.
 Deposits grew by 23.70% from Rs.53795 Crs as
on 31ST Dec2008 to Rs.66547 Crs as on 31st
Dec2009
 Gross advances of the bank surged to Rs. 51352
Crs as on 31st December-09 from Rs. 42027 Crs as
on 31 st December,2008 with a growth of 22.19%
 The Credit Deposit ratio stood 77.47% as on
31-12-09.
Performance
 Total Income stood at Rs 1827 crs, registering a growth
of 14.73%.
 Net Interest Income increased to Rs. 583 Cr, up by
29.27%.
 Operating Profit improved to Rs. 482 Crs, up by 29.33 %
 Net profit increased to Rs. 275 Crs with growth of 29.47%
over the corresponding period in the previous year.
 Return on Assets (ROA), annualized, improved to
1.49%  compared  to 1.04% in  previous year.
 Cost to Income ratio improved to 40.28 % from
43.70% in the previous year
