OBJECTIVE: To learn the origin and evolution of the
Periodic Table to understand the classification of the
elements found on earth.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE: To identify the essential vocabulary
used to describe the Periodic Table.
Biblical Principle
Even the things that we cant see were created by God
to glorify His name.

Colossians 1:16
New King James Version (NKJV)
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven
and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether

ten points of his/her participation mark.
If the students distract others he/she has to talk in front of the class and
apologize.
If the students frequently have a bad behavior will be notified in the
folder of behavior.
Project: Create a new element for the Periodic table
with its own characteristics and uses and explain how it
glorifies the name of the Lord
Group of 3 people
Due Date: October 3rd, 2017
Quiz October 17th ,2017
RUBRIC - The teacher will take into account
1. Pronunciation
2. Fluency (Student acted as a facilitator, helping the conversation flow and
develop).
3. Length of the speech
4. Proper use of various structures
5. Vocabulary used in class was used properly to communicate
6. Voice and non-verbal communication (Pronunciation was clear and inflection
and expressions were used to enhance communication.)
7. Listening (Student responded to questions with appropriate answers,
acknowledged all statements, and incorporated them into the discussion.)
8. Creativity displayed in bringing all the material necessary to carry out the
activity
9. Eye contact: look at the audience during the entire presentation while
speaking.
10. Use of notecards: look at audience while speaking, not reading straight from

ESSENTIAL VOCABULARY
MATTER: refers to all of the material in the
universe. Matter is made up of atoms. There
are three normal states of matter: Solid,
Liquid, and Gases.
ATOM: tiny particles of matter. Each atom
contains three smaller particles:
Electrons, Protons,
and Neutrons. Each atom
contains a nucleus or
center that holds
Protons and Neutrons.
Electrons orbit around
the nucleus.
Two of these particles have electrical charges:
Proton ---positive electrical charge
Electron --- negative electrical charge
Neutron --- has no charge at all.
ELEMENTS: it is a material composed of only
one type of atom. Elements may be solid,
liquids, or gases. There are 92 natural
elements in the universe and 24 elements that
have been created by scientists in
laboratories.
PERIODIC TABLE
The chemical elements are arranged on a
periodic table that gives their name, chemical
symbol, and atomic number. Elements are
arranged in order by their atomic number in
18 columns and 9 rows.
Elements are placed in rows according to the
arrangement of electrons around the nucleus
of the atoms.
MOLECULES: A molecule is the smallest part
of a chemical element or a compound that can
exist on its own.
A molecule is formed when two or more
elements are held together by a chemical
action that is called bonding.
