Serbia

Situated in Central and Southeast Europe, Serbia is a


landlocked country.
The capital is Belgrade and this capital is one of the most
largest cities in Europe
From 1945 to 1963 the official name was Republic of Serbia
Serbia is a pre candidate to EU since 2012
The official language is Serbian
The temperature turns around from 0 C to 22 C and can be
classified as humid subtropical climate

Population: 7.058.322 (2016)


Education
There is a census from 2011 that showed some stats
about education in Serbia
Only 16.2% of the population have higher education
49% have secondary education
20.7% have an elementary education
13.7% havent completed elementary school
Including public universities and private universities
there are 17 and 85 faculties
The minimal wage is about 240/month

Music

Serbia have a lot of music styles with your own


characteristics and between then: Rock, Jazz, Hip-Hop,
Ethno music,Novokomponovana, Folk and Balkan Brass
Novokomponovana is the result of the urbanization of folk
music. Nowadays use accordion , clarinet and can include
love songs (in the past had anti Communist lyric themes)
Balkan Brass is a type of music that use brass instruments
such as flugelhorns, trumpets, wagner tuba and baritone
horns. This kind of music is popular on Central and Southern
Serbia and have your origins from First Serbian Uprising.
Cuisine

Serbian cuisine have height diverse, spicy and solid food and
its mix of Bulgarian, Turkish, Greek and Hungarian cuisine..
The use of meat, dough, vegetables and dairy products is
predominant in it.
Some traditional Serbian foods are: burek, gibanica,
Karaoreva steak, uve and mukalica.
Mukalica is a dish that contain meat from diferente animals
and various cuts from the same type of animal
uve its oven-baked meat and vegetable stew. Its made
with meat, olives, tomates, murshrooms, onions, herbs, spices
and the type of meats that can be include are chicken, pork,
lamb, beef or fish. Also, the dish is flavoured with paprika,
herbs and summer savoury (type of plant Satureja Hortensis)
Drinks
In Brazil or Serbia beer have the same
popularity but in Serbia there are
consumption of others drinks like a
Slivovitz an alcohol drink made from
fermented plum juice- or yet, a drink
called Rakia and this kind of drink
contain around 40% ABV, but sometimes
can be stronger with 50, 80 or 90% ABV.
Desserts
There are not a traditional desserts from
Serbia but some of the most commons are:
krofne, tulumba, torta praska
krofne: have some similarity with
doughnuts or sonho and they are filled
with marmalade, jam, chocolate, jelly.
Torta praska is made with layered yeast
dough, apricot filling and crackly
meringue
What kind of places can I visit?

There are lot of castles, canyons, mountains, lake, rivers and


cities to visit but I will show only a few of them

This place are hidden in the untouched nature of eastern


Serbia and there are many structures with whirlpools in them
Ledena peina
This place is accessible only by boat and is hidden below the
steep limestone cliffs of the Uvac canyon
The Ba Fortress and Golubac Fortress

This is 14th century fortress


and is located Vojvodina
in the town of Ba

Zlatar

Zlatar is a mountain in southwestern Serbia and stay in


1627m above the sea level.
Krupaja Spring

Krupaja Spring is a Waterfall that emerges on the West side of


the Beljanica Mountain on 220m above the sea level. This
place is settled in the southeast part of the Valley of Krepoljin
and Krupaja in village Milanovac
And what about Belgrade?
Belgrade is the capital from Serbia and this is the biggest city in this
country and the area of this city is 360km.
Some places that you can visit are: Church of Saint Sava, Skadarlija
Street and Ada Ciganlija.
Church of Saint Sava is the largest orthodox church in Serbia
Skadarlija Street is possible to find fomous traditional taverns and
restaurants from Belgrade
Ada Ciganlija have wonderful bike trails and this place become
perfect to cycling, pratice another sports like a bungee jump or,
swimming in the river. Also, there are many cafes, restaurants and bars
