Technology gap.
The technology gap theory describes an advantage enjoyed by the
country that introduces new goods in a market. Posner 1961.

Design matrix
Mathematically these mappings may be expressed as follows
FR = [A] DP
Where A represents a design matrix,
The matrix element Aij records the relationship between FRj and DPj
in binary
measures of couplings with either an "X" (related, a non-zero value) or a "0"
(nonrelated) [9].
FR-the list of functional requirements
DP-the corresponding list of design parameters
Axioms
The following are two axioms that a design needs to satisfy:
Axiom 1: The Independence Axiom
Maintain the independence of the functional requirements
Axiom 2: The Information Axiom

Minimize the information content in a design

Axiom 1: states that in an optimal design, the DPs and FRs are related in
such a way that specific DP can be adjusted to satisfy its
corresponding FR without affecting other functional requirements.
Axiom 2: indicates that the best design is a functionally uncoupled design
that has the minimal information content.

Lubrication System

The lubrication system was a closed bath system and was modified to a
circulating oil system with a cooler to counter the effect of heat from the
chuck head.
