 Chapter I

Introduction
We all experience love. We loved and
been loved by our parents, brothers,
sisters, relatives and even with your
favorite pet. But the love that we feel and
get from a romantic love one are
different. It is a new feeling unlike any of
these other way of loving. This kind of
feeling grow as we are growing and it
develops during adolescent.
Love is a thread that connects the
most diverse people in the world. Love
is wonderful. Love is about what you
feel to the one who give you space in
his life and make you special. Love is
about loving a person even though he
or she doesnt love you and moving on
even there was never between you
and that person.
 Romantic love is a moment and
situations within intimate
relationships to an individual as
contributing to a significant
relationship connection. Its a natural
part of growing up to develop
romantic feelings and sexual
attraction to others. This feeling can
be exiting or confusing at first.
 Statement of the Problem
Reasons Why Teenager Engage in an Early Relationship

The researchers wants to know the reasons why teenagers now a

days engage in an early relationship. This study focused on the
reasons why teenager in Pagsulhugon National High School engage
in an early relationship.

2.2. Why do you engage in an early relationship?
2.3. Is having a relationship makes you happy? Why?
 Significances of the Study
This study is important to the following:

Teenagers:
For them to be aware of the possible effect of
early relationship.
Parents:
For them to know how to cope with their
teenagers and give them guidance and protection.
Teachers:
For them to understand teenagers with their
feeling.
 Scope and Limitations
This study focused on the reasons why
teenagers engage in an early relationship. The
researchers wants to know the opinions, views,
reactions and their reasons, in engaging their selves in
a relationship. We choose this topic as it one of the
controversial issue among teenagers in this generation
specially many teenagers now a days are in a
relationship. In Pagsulhugon National High School,
many teenagers are in a relationship, so we are going
to find out what are their reasons in engaging in an
early relationship.
 Chapter II
Emotional Reasons
This primarily the cause for many teenagers.
Humans with emotion who need someone to
express themselves to someone that understand
them and someone that would always be there to
relieve them for whatever may be passing through
emotionally. . And since human needs
someone to share there pains and joy with,
at almost the same way as such as
individual is feeling.
 Tasting or Want to
Experience

Teenagers now a days want to

try having a relationship. This is
when either both the partners
enter into relationship just for fun
of it; purposely to taste or
experience it.
 Peer Group Reasons
Since teenagers now a days has a group of people
surrounded, and since it is important for youth to fit in
with their pressure group they may also participate in
the same hobbies or activities as their friends, such as
alcohol, taking drugs, skipping school and engaging in
an early relationship because thats what their friend
hobbies. In order for them to fit in that group of people
they need to participate their activity. For instance,
adolescent peer groups are closer and more tightly knit.
 Replacement Reasons
This type of relationship is when either or
both of the partners enter into a relationship just
for he purpose of replacing the former partners
whos left.
The reason of this is because most people
find it difficult to be alone (single) especially
when they have to battle through the emotional
trauma of losing a partner; thus they seek for
quick replacement by most oftenly not taking a
mindful screening of their new partners.
 Sexual Reasons
Since youth are sexually active, therefore
engage in a relationship to satisfy their sexual
urge. Most often, relationship built on this
reasons are mutually agreed upon by both
partners unlike the other reasons which are
mostly one sided. However when a relationship
is built solely on this some affects are attached
to it. Such as addiction, abortion, unexpected
pregnancy etc. And it is worse when either of
the partners is not sincere.
 Lack of parental support
Teenager engage in a relationship because they
have a lack of support from their parents. Sometimes
their parents has a lack communication with their
children and they don't even try to talk to their child
with any problems that they have, thats why they want
to engage in a relationship because they want that their
someone who could support and understand them. In
this case they feel that their boyfriend or girlfriend are
the one who could always be their for them.
 Insecurity Reasons
There are times that a teenagers,
feel insecure to the couple surround
his/her specially when he see that they
are sweet and good together. In this
cases they want to engage in a
relationship to have someone and for
them to be not insecure with others
who has a partner.

Conclusion
According to the result that we have gathered early
relationship of teenagers in Pagsulhugon National High
School has a various reasons since youth generation is really
into something, if they want something they usually get the
desire to have it and most of them gone into dating and end
up in a relationship.
Teenagers most reason why they engage in an early
relationship are because of there emotions, they feel in love
toward a person that are always there for them and they
want that there is someone who could lessen with their
thoughts and feelings towards something who could relieved
the pain they facing through.
 There are times that being a relationship
for the teenagers is because they want to try
having a boyfriend or girlfriend just to
experience how it feels or either they want to
have some fun with that person. Some other
reasons of teenagers are because of their
friends who influence them to enter in a
relationship and since they need to cope with
them, he or she need to obey just to fit with
that group of people.
 Other teenagers engage in a relationship
because they want to replace there former
partner who lift, or either because there so called
ex who lift them with heart ache, they find
someone who could relieve the pain. In our
generation today teenagers are sexual active so
they engage in a relationship just because of
sexual reasons and in some cases because of lack
of support from their parents, they want that
there someone who could support them so they
engage in an early relationship
 Insecurity are also the reasons of teenagers, in
engaging in a relationship, because they dont want to
be insecure with other who has a partner so they
engage in a relationship.
We cannot say that early romantic relationship is
right or wrong. We cannot criticize or judge teenager
because they enter in a relationship at a very young
age, because they have reasons on why they enter in a
relationship, and we should understand them.
In some teenagers there is nothing wrong to try
and enter in a relationship. It is only become wrong for
how you handle your relationship to someone.
 Recommendation
As time goes by, many teenagers engage in a
relationship at a very young age. It is important that we
should know how to handle that relationship and teenagers
should know their limitation for them to be not in danger.
Teenagers are not yet matured enough when it comes
to relationship; they need the guidance of their parents. It is
important that they could communicate with their children so
that they could give advices with the negative effect of early
relationship. The parents should also have the support for the
children so that their child will not look for someone who
could be their them when they want that there someone who
could ease the pain they feel.
 Since teenagers are mostly in school, the
teachers should give best advice for their student,
in order for them to understand what are the
effect of the early relationship, and since teachers
are considered as the second parent they will be
the guide also to the children who has a
relationship and also to those who doesnt have a
boyfriend or girlfriend.
I hope that these studies will help to open
the eyes and mind of teenagers, parents and
teacher on bow they should cope and handle early
relationship.
 Definition of Terms
Teenagers- They are the people with the age of 13 to 19 years old.
Transition age from childhood when sex maturation and rapid physical
development.

Peer Pressure- is the direct influence in people in peers, or an

individual who gets encouraged to follow their peers by changing their
attitudes, values, or behaviors to conform to those of the influencing
group or individual.

Insecurity- feeling of uncertainly, a lack of confidence or anxiety about

yourself.

Curiosity- is a quality related to inquisitive thinking such as exploration,

investigation, and learning, evident by observation in human and other
animals.
