Title: Why Use Technology?

Dramatic Question: Is technology usage harming our students

learning? What we should be asking ourselves is what do we
do about this?

Narration: As a future educator I find it important to open

our eyes and adjust ourselves to our new generation.
Integrating technology in the classroom is a very
controversial topic. Many educators fear that using
technology in the classroom will distract the students or
become a crutch in learning.

Title: Technology is Taking Over

Narration: Technology has become a big part of our lives.

New devices are being developed in a rapid pace and
technology is expanding throughout our society. Our new
generation is surrounded by technology and uses it daily.

Title: Is technology good or bad?

Narration: Technology can be negative or positive in

the classroom based on how it is presented and used
in instruction.The best way for a teacher to integrate
technology effectively is to have a clear purpose and
to understand how to use it and guide the students in
the process.

Title: Examples of Technology

Narration: A good example of using technology

effectively in the classroom is to use collaborative
sites such as twitter, voicethread, or flipgrid. The
positive of using these sites is it is easily accessible
and can be used for discussion purposes and allows
students to interact with each other and give each
other feedback. This enhances the collaboration in
the classroom and creates a sense of community

Title: Is technology distracting?

Narration: There have been many arguments that technology

can be negative in the classroom and can take away from the
students ability to read deeply. The only issue with this
argument is that when you use technology in the classroom
something is always amplified and reduced. The most
important part of using technology for 21st century learners
is to carefully select technology for the classroom and
enforce it positively in the classroom. (Scherer, 2011)

Narration: Technology has opened up new windows

of opportunity in the classroom. There are many
benefits in using. It can help students learn at their
own pace, provide additional resources, gain students
interest, and make collaboration more effective.

Narration: Technology is all around us. It is getting

harder every day to gain students interest in the
classroom and help them with learning. Why run
away from technology when we can embrace it and
find new ways to incorporate it in the classroom. It
is a new generation and it is time we accept it and
learn how to adjust to it.
