We use it basically for the following two situations:

1)Express that something is happening at this

time.

Example:

I am watching a movie in my
house.
 PRESENT CONTINUOUS

2) Say that something is happening for a limited

time.

Example:

Mario is studying in this school.

Grammar of the present continuous

The indicated way to express a sentence in the present

If the verb ends in "e", we eliminate the "e" and add "ING"

duplicate the last consonant and add "ING.
