Group Manifesto

We believe that technology is an exceptional way for students to


engage in their learning. We believe that through the principles of
UDL, technology can be used to accommodate those students who need
extra support and have different learning styles. We believe it is important
to use relevant software to adhere to the students’ needs and
capabilities. We believe that we should use specific software and
applications that hold the students focus and gives them incentive to
learn. We believe learners are diverse in their learning needs and
therefore, the method of instruction and assessment must be done in such a
way that every student can benefit from it. We believe that all students have
the ability to succeed and technology can be an asset that can be used
to improve their knowledge and skills. We believe that integrating
today’s technology in our classrooms will help the learners of tomorrow
exceed. We believe that technology can break down the barriers for

Grade Level: 6

Students Profile: Jacob is shy and timid but attentive in the classroom. From
his previous homework, we understand that he is really creative. In class, they
are currently discussing diversity and how they are able to respect others of
different cultures. We want him to develop his interpersonal skills by using
literacy to share more about his culture and his personal experiences.

Name of Student: Koleene

Grade level: Six

Student profile: Koleene has Code 301 (funded), an ELL immigrant student who have
insufficient fluency in English to achieve grade-level outcomes in ELA. Koleene received
a feedback from her Teacher in LA class in their reflective statements that she needs to
work on synthesizing ideas to illustrate critical thinking and grammar (tenses) and she
missed some prepositions on her paragraph.

Lesson: Clarity and Artistry of Communication

Learner outcome: Outcomes from the Program of Studies grade six ELA

Attend to grammar and usage


● use words and phrases to modify and clarify ideas in own writing
● use connecting words to link ideas in sentences and paragraphs
● identify irregular verbs, and use in own writing
● identify past, present and future verb tenses, and use in sentences

Differentiation of Instruction:
● Present ideas through visual and motivated means.

● Technology when combined with the curriculum can be used to


enhance student performance.

apply UDL.

● Using technology can be fun and interactive for the students


therefore, engaging and motivating them to learn.

● Technology occupies a position (in a simple or complex way) in the


teaching-learning process.
