Washington, D.C. formally
the District of Columbia and
commonly referred to as
Washington, the District, or
simply D.C., is the capital
of the United States,
founded on July 16, 1790.
Washington, D.C., is
governed by a mayor and a
13-member city council.
However, the United States
Congress has supreme
authority over the city and
may overturn local laws.
The White House is the
official residence and
principal workplace of the
President of the United
States.
LOS ANGELES
Los Angeles is the second most
populous city in the United
States, the most populous city in
the state of California and the
western United States. Often
known by its initials, L.A., and
nicknamed the City
of Angels, Los Angeles is a
world center of business,
international trade,
entertainment, culture, media,
fashion, science,
technology, and education. It is
home to renowned institutions
covering a broad range of
professional and cultural
fields, and is one of the most
substantial economic engines
within the United States.

The Walt Disney World
Resort is the world's
largest and most visited
recreational resort,
covering a 30,080-acre
area just southwest of
Orlando, Florida, USA
and encompassing four
theme parks, two water

themed resort hotels
including a

health spas and fitness

recreational venues and
entertainment.
NEW YORK
New York is a state in the
North-eastern region of the
United States. It is the
nation's third most populous
state. New York is bordered
by New Jersey and
Pennsylvania to the south,
and by Connecticut,
Massachusetts and Vermont
to the east. The state has a
maritime border with Rhode
Island east of Long Island,
as well as an international
border with the Canadian
provinces of Ontario to the
north and west, and Quebec
to the north. New York is
often referred to as New
York State to distinguish it
from New York City.
EMPIRE STATE
BUILDING
The Empire State Building is a
102-story landmark Art Deco
skyscraper in New York City at
the intersection of Fifth Avenue
and West 34th Street. Its name is
derived from the nickname for
New York, The Empire State. It
stood as the world's tallest
building for more than 40 years,
from its completion in 1931 until
construction of the World Trade
Center's North Tower was
completed in 1972. Following the
destruction of the World Trade
Center in 2001, the Empire State
Building again became the tallest
building in New York City.
THE STATUE OF
LIBERTY
The Statue of Liberty ,originally
called Liberty Enlightening the
World is a colossal neoclassical
sculpture on Liberty Island in
New York Harbor, designed by
Frederic Bartholdi and
dedicated on October 28,
1886.The statue, a gift to the
United States from the people
of France, is of a robed female
figure representing Libertas, the
Roman goddess of freedom,
who bears a torch and a tabula
ansata (a tablet evoking the law)
upon which is inscribed the date
of American independence. A
broken chain lies at her feet.
The statue has become an iconic
symbol of freedom and of the
United States.
THE NIAGARA FALLS
The Niagara Falls are
voluminous waterfalls
on the Niagara River,
straddling the
international border
between the Canadian
province of Ontario
and the U.S. state of
New York. The falls
are 17 miles (27 km)
north-northwest of
Buffalo, New York
and 75 miles (120 km)
south-southeast of
Toronto, Ontario,
between the twin
cities of Niagara Falls,
Ontario, and Niagara
Falls, New York.

often used as a metonym
of American cinema, and
is often interchangeably
used to refer to the greater
Los Angeles area in
general. The nicknames
Star Struck Town and
Tinsel town refer to
Hollywood and its movie
industry.
