Introduction
• Welding machine is used for welding purpose of metals.

• Welding plays important role in automotive construction and

marine industries.

• Welding is the core procedure of making rigid metal structure

of any model.

• Current can also be controlled for different type of weld.

3 January 2018
Literature Review

• Design and development of current control welding machine

DC input.
DC-DC Converter.

• Mechanical project on arc welding.

Mechanical Hardware
Production of heat via arc which cause high current lost.
Problem Statement
• Conventional machines are very heavy weight
bigger in size.

• Ordinary welding machines are costly and having

low efficiency.

• Inaccuracies in ordinary machines.

• High range of output current.

3 January 2018
Aims & Objectives

• The aim of this project is to design an intelligent

welding machine which can weld a specific metal by
current controlling method.

• A switch mode based smaller size welding machine

will be designed and implemented.

• To familiarize and understand the basic functions of

welding machine.

3 January 2018
Aims & Objectives
• Current can also be controlled for different
type of weld. It is achieved by controlling duty
cycle of an IGBT(Insulated-gate Bipolar Transistor) switch.

• This Welding machine will make welding

easier, by simply controlling current via
current controlling knob.
