Industrial Automation can be defined as the
application of field Robotics in industries which
requires a working knowledge of electronics,
mechanics, and software. The work experience of
industrial environment changes dramatically by
Automation. Thus, robot is the machine which
leads Automation.Industrial Robot is "A
reprogrammable, multifunctional manipulator
designed to move materials, parts, tools, or
specialized devices through various programmed
motions for the performance of a variety of tasks."
Automation is used in a wide range of industrial
applications. The earliest applications were in materials
handling, spot welding, and spray painting. Robots were
initially applied to jobs that were hot, heavy, and hazardous
such as die casting, forging, and spot welding.Typical
industrial robots do jobs that are difficult, dangerous or dull.
They lift heavy objects, paint, handle chemicals, and perform
assembly work. They perform the same job hour after hour,
day after day with precision. They don't get tired and they
don't make errors associated with fatigue.
The computer controls the robot by rotating individual
step motors connected to each joint. Unlike ordinary motors,
step motors move in exact increments. This allows the
computer to move the arm very precisely, repeating exactly
the same movement over and over again.

 THE WORKFORCE:
 Improving Working Conditions
 Robotic systems change the work experience dramatically. It is no longer necessary
for humans to perform hazardous or even dull work. Robots can easily take over
jobs that require heavy lifting, tedious or repetitive tasks, and toxic and harmful
substances. Fewer work-related accidents and health problems occur as a result.
 PRODUCTION:
 Working Faster
 Robotic systems run at higher speeds with more efficiency than manual laborers.
For example, one robotic welding robot has the potential to perform the work of
four manual welders. With robots, part cycle time is shortened considerably and
throughput is increased.
 SAVING
 Automation generates significant saving. Not only does it produce more, faster,
but there is no break in production and fewer accidents. With fewer health hazards
and a redistributed workforce, insurance costs decrease. Robotic systems also offer
more precision and efficiency. There are fewer wasted materials. Programming
allows for application flexibility.
Thus,by introducing automation into industrial
environment, it directrly impacts workforce,
production and saving. Robotes work
tirelessly, so once your facility is automated
there is no down time caused by
sickness,ramping up and
down,breaks,vacations or loss of workers.
Roboties systems also offer more precision and
efficiency. Automation increases faciliti’s
flexibility and potential for advancement.
