DRUG INVENTORY

CONTROL SYSTEM
WHAT IT IS??
• This was designed to provide quality medicine
in government hospitals by developing
transparent Drug procurement policy and to
manage hospitals drug inventory up to date
by making it online.
ITS NEED
• To establish a transparent monitoring system
over distribution of medicinesand purchasing of
medicines.

• To maintain the data at centralized front so that it

can updated and maintained .

• To monitor fraudness induced by various higher

officials in purchase of medicines.
ITS WORKING:
• DPICS facilitate 4 category users to work on it .
these 4 categories are administration Level, state
Level, district Level and vender Level .

• Administration level.
• State level users
• District level users
• Vendor Level User
• At administrative level the admin maintains
and monitors the records of user at all the
three level state(state , district, vendors).

• At state level ,the state CMOs maintains the

norms , rate list ,essential drug list, monitors
purchase order and availability of medicines
at district level hospitals.
• At district level the CMOs or CMS can generate a
purchase order and receive medicines from vendor
through software.

• Hospital issue all medicine to units(indoor/outdoor).

when hospital generate po and approved po
then they will get sms at both end vendor and
hospital.

.
• Vendors will check the purchase order at its
end.

And would supply the medicines to

destined hospital.

Purchased order on the other is updated with

the entry of being delivered.
• At State level user is having the responsibility
to monitor records of district user.
He is the one having the responsibility
to maintain the records and monitor activities
of district CMS.
at
• Budget entry involves the amount given as
a budget to district level in order to purchase
medicines .
E.g. That a stock of particular list of medicines
will b be delivered at which rate.s
• Medicine strength means its amount in mg.

We would have seen 500 mg on

marked on capsules.
• Standard medicine list involves the names of
all those medicines which are choosen by
government to be purchased by hospitals.

• As on these list a fixed vendor is being

choosen by government to supply the
medicines at nominal price
• RC approved vendors are those who are been
choosen by the government for the supply of
the particular medicine at the fixed rate or at
the tendor at which he is been approved.
ADVANTAGES:
• Now nothing is manual, as the software
allows users to reflect the purchase order
status visible to higher authorities.

Now officials even cannot claim that the

authorised vendor has not delivered the
medicines.
• Better budget management.

• No fraudness or cheating at official levels

will be involved.
