The listening scripts of MS3 sequence 4 deal with three topics:
Page 29&30 sc 1 to 4 : The biodiversity and Algeria’s National Parks
, the grammar point Present perfect, the comparative.
Page 31: Algeria’s Endangered Fauna and Flora & Saving the
Macaque, Present perfect /since/for /how long, cause & result.
Page 32& 33, sc1to 4: Eco-schools, imperative, must/mustn’t,
should/shouldn’t.
Then we have 3 I listen and do lessons which will be followed by a
grammar lesson I practise

How do we start I listen and do lesson?

After reading the listening scripts, I have to:


Prepare a warming up task which isn’t obligatory to be
related to the lesson to be taught or being taught, the aim is
to attract your Ls’ attention and interest.
Highlight the new vocabulary in the listening scripts and
introduce them in the Pre-listening task through matching
pictures with words, words with their definitions, synonyms or
antonyms. You can even use a video to make things much
clear in your Ls’ mind concerning the topic to deal with.

During-listening tasks
Select the tasks that helps your Ls understand the topic
much and get them involved in the tasks.
After this stage we move to: Post-
listening task:
A task that Ls are invited to produce a piece of writing or
oral passage, a short paragraph, a dialogue or any piece
which show how much Ls have grasped from the lesson.

Some hints to help you

 Don’t start with the lesson plan, let it be the last thing to do.
 Prepare all the materials you need to make your lesson successful.
 Put yourself in the Ls’s shoes and anticipate the difficulties they may meet during learning.
 Try to make things clear through illustration, miming, gestures and asking questions that help
find the exact word.
 Let the Ls guess the meaning and never be impatient to get the right answer.
 Try all what you have prepared and experience it in the class, reflect on your work and
decide whether to adopt the draft plan or change your strategy of doing the lesson.
 Prepare yourself by checking pronunciation, appropriate definitions for the new words to
help your Ls.
 The more you have knowledge, the more your Ls trust you and respect you, so enrich your
cultural studies with the cross-curricular competence.
