Wonderwall

• Verse 1
Today is gonna be the day
That they’re gonna throw it back to you.
By now you should’ve somehow
Realized what you got to do.
I don’t believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now.
Wonderwall

• Verse 2
Backbeat, the word is on the street
That the fire in your heart is out.
I’m sure you’ve heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt.
I don’t believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now.
Wonderwall
• Middle 1
And all the roads we have to walk are winding.
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding.
There are many things that I would
Like to say to you – but I don’t know how –
(Chorus)
Because maybe, you’re gonna be the one who saves me?
And after all – you’re my Wonderwall
Wonderwall

• Verse 3
Today was gonna be the day
But they’ll never throw it back to you.
By now you should somehow
Realized what you’re not to do.
I don’t believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now.

The Middle Section

• Many Pop Songs have a middle section. This is usually 8 Bars Long, and
therefore known as A Middle 8.
• Wonderwall is an excellent example. The middle section helps shift the piece from
the Minor Key Verse, to the major key Chorus
• It can be divided into 4 short sections.

Piano Tips: All the notes but not (necessarily) in
the right order.
• To make playing easier, the notes of a chord can be re-
arranged. This is known as ‘inverting’ or using ‘inversions’.
• For example, the second chord of the Verse is a C chord
(CEG) this can be re-arranged as GCE, to make it easier to
change between this and the first chord, A minor (ACE)

• Watch
the video

in action.
