Connection Two Computers With

LAN Cable For Drive Sharing


Creating a 2 computer connection with a LAN cable is very easy and can be used to share data, such as documents,
music, video, printers and others

Step 1 – Creating A Physical
Connection
First prepare a LAN/Ethernet cable with a
crossover combination that already contains
RJ45 connector, as shown in the picture beside.
Then attach LAN/Ethernet Cable to the
LAN/Ethernet port on each PC. So it becomes
like the picture below.
Step 2 –LAN Connection Setting

Click Right icon LAN in the Taskbar, Select the Open Network and From the left sidebar, click on “Change Adapter Settings” option.
Sharing Center/Open Network Internet Settings option.

After that, open your “Local Area


In the "TCP/IPv4 properties" popup window. Select Now select the “Internet protocol Version 4 Connections” or “Ethernet” Adaptor’s
"Use the following IP Address" and enter the IP
Address according to the information in the image on (TCP/IPv4)” option and then click on properties. With click right and select Properties
PC1 and PC2. when finished click the OK button its “Properties” button. option
Step 3 – Change Default Sharing
Setting

To do that, you have to go back to the Network and Sharing Centre


settings page of your Windows and then select the “Change Advanced
sharing settings" option to see all your network sharing settings.

Turn on network discovery


Turn on file and printer sharing
Allow windows to manage homegroup connection (recommended)
Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in the
public folders
Use 128-bit encryption to help protect files sharing connections
(recommended)
Turn off password protected sharing
Step 4 – At Last, Turn On Drive
Sharing
Now to share your drive via network you will just need to Turn
On the drive sharing by making some changes in that drive’s
properties.
Open the “Windows Explorer”
Double Click on icon “This PC”
1. Right click on your drive and select Properties.
2. Then, select “Sharing”.
3. Then, click on “Advanced Sharing”.
4. Then, tick the “Share this folder”.
5. Then, click on “Permissions”.
6. Then, tick on “Full control”.
7. Then, click on “OK”.
8. At last, click on “OK” again

On the “Windows Explorer”
