Definition of SLIP, TRIP & FALL

SLIP : too little friction or a lack of traction

between the footwear and surface, causing loss of
balance.

TRIP : foot striking against an object and

causing loss of balance.

FALL : occurs when too far off centre

of balance.
2 types of fall:
- Same level
- Lower level
• Slips and trips can cause someone to lose balance and sometimes
may lead to FALL.

• Unintentional fall – Accident

Intentional fall – Suicide? Stunt?

• Reasons of slips and trips:

- wet / uneven surface
- improper cable management FALL
- not alert to surrounding/ distracted (usually when
