Noun Forms
1. Concrete Nouns
Concrete nouns refer to physical
entities that can be observed by at least
one of the senses.
Ex: chair, apple, Janet, atom
2. Abstract Nouns
Abstract nouns is ideas or concepts
Ex: justice, hatred, agreement, kindness
Kinds of Nouns
1. Proper Nouns
A proper noun or proper name is a noun
representing unique entities
Ex: Earth, India, Jupiter, Harry, BMW

Ex: city, planet, person, car
3. Collective nouns
Nouns that refer to groups consisting of more
than one individual or entity, even when they
are inflected for the singular.
Ex: committee, herd, flock, school (of fish).
Types of Nouns
1. Countable Nouns
Common nouns that can take a plural, can
combine
with numerals or quantifiers (e.g., one, two,
several, every, most), and can take an
indefinite article (a or an).
Ex: chair, nose, occasion
2. Uncountable Nouns
Can't take plural or combine with number
words or quantifiers.
Ex: laughter, cutlery, helium, furniture

Nouns showing to be more than one.
Ex: books, baskets, CDs, pencils

Noun Clause: is a clause functions
as a noun
1. Noun clause as a subject of a sentence
Ex: What you said doesn’t convince me at all.
What the salesman has said is untrue.
2. Noun clause as an object of a transitive verb
Ex: I know what you mean.
He said that his son would study in Australia.
3. Noun clause as an object of a preposition
Ex: Please listen to what your teacher is saying.
Be careful of what you’re doing.
4. Noun clause as a complement
Ex: This is what I want.
The good news is that the culprit has been put into jail.
5. Noun clause as a noun in apposition
Ex: The idea that people can live without oxygen is unreasonable.

What is an adjective?

thing in the sentence.

ADJECTIVE CLAUSE
What is an adjective clause?
An adjective clause functions as an adjective. It is started
with relative pronoun or relative adverb.

1. Adjective Clause with Relative Pronoun


Ex: The man who is sitting over there is my father.
The woman whose bag is red is my mother.
2. Adjective Clause with Relative Adverb
Ex: This is the reason why she did it.
Newsworthy events rarely happen in the small
town where I lived as a child.
