Spain is located in
Europe
 The weather in Spain is always
warm. Even in January, it is

clima about 50 degrees fahrenheit. It

never gets extremely hot either!
It is usually about 80 in June
and July. Therefore, it is
beautiful.
 In 1516, Habsburg Spain unified

many of different kingdoms; in 1813
it became and continues to be a
constitutional monarchy. Its
current democratic constitution is
from 1978.
 During Christmas time people in
Spain get together and they
start with appetizers like
spanish ham and fried pork loins

cod fish with tomato sauce
drizzle and they have roasted
goat and croquettes and for
dessert they have a pudding
called flan and to finish off
their christmas feast is a shot
of Licor de Orujo
 Roast Lamb ingredients
Serves 4 – 6
Tradicional Receta
Cordero Asado is a famous
dish that the spaniards
prepare on the night of
Christmas Eve
● 1.5 kg (3 ½ lb) leg of lamb
● 2 tablespoons of olive oil
● 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
● 2 cloves of garlic finely sliced
● 1 wineglass of dry white wine
● 300 ml (½ pint) of water
● 2 tablespoons of wine vinegar
● juice of 1 lemon
● potatoes (the quantity just depends on how much you want to cook with the
lamb)
● 1 or 2 large onions
● 4 or 5 whole garlic cloves (or add less if you don’t want such a strong
garlic flavour in the onions and potatoes)
● salt
● freshly ground black pepper
● Place in a preheated oven at 230ºC/450ºF/gas mark 8 for 15 minutes. Then
turn the heat down to 190ºC/375ºF/gas mark 5 and continue to roast it.

their main Christmas meal on Christmas
Eve before the service. The traditional
Spanish Christmas dinner is 'Pavo Trufado

truffles. After the midnight service,
people walk through the streets carrying
torches, playing guitars and beating on
tambourines and drums. One Spanish saying
is 'Esta noche es Noche-Buena, Y no Es
noche de dormir' which means 'Tonight is
the good night and it is not meant for
sleeping!
 Mass amounts of lights and loud
speakers play christmas carols

Decoraciones
in the night. A highly
ornamented christmas tree sits
in the family room.Food is at
the ready for family members.
Papa Noel decorations sit on
terraces and balconies.
 One of the most popular
