ORBITA
Is a pear-shaped chamber that consists of seven
bones which, the eye and its adnexa are
located.
The chamber’s size is about 30 mm3 whilst the
volume of the eye itself is about 1/5 of it (6
mm3) .
Like any other room, the orbital also
consists of:
• Orbital walls
• Orbital rim
• The eye as its prime contains
• and also the adnexa
The orbit consists of seven individual bones:
• Sphenoid
• Frontal
• Ethmoid
• Maxillary
• Zygomatic
• Palatine
• Lacrimal
ORBITAL RIM
Orbital has one entry point that is called orbital
rim. Orbital rim is composed of several bone
edge:
Frontal bone
Lacrimal bone
Maxillary bone
Zygomatic bone
