D-MIMO Algorithm Principles (1)
D-MIMO solution: Increase capacity by mitigating interference without adjusting antennas.

Site densification Traditional MIMO CRAN D-MIMO

Required for inter-BBU D-MIMO

 Traditional network capacity expansion: Densify sites. Interference also increases.

 D-MIMO solution: Antennas do not need to be adjusted, and network planning is simplified. Multiple RRUs work jointly to
mitigate interference. D-MIMO provides single-user joint transmission (SU-JT) gains and multi-user multiplexing gains.

 D-MIMO cluster: multi-user joint transmission (MU-JT)
Signal Signal SU-JT is performed to change interference signals from adjacent cell into useful
signals for CEUs, providing more antenna coherent array gains. SU-JT improves the
SINR (MCS) and increases the UE throughput.

D-MIMO Algorithm Principles (3) - MU-JT
 D-MIMO cluster: multi-user joint transmission (MU-JT)
MU-JT perform weight orthogonalization to decrease inter-user interference, and implements
multi-user spatial multiplexing.
After the downlink data of UE 1 is weighted using a weight vector and passes through the channel
of UE 2 and reaches UE 2, interference is mutually cancelled in the horizontal direction and the
vertical direction, and there is no signal energy. UE 1 does not cause interference to UE 2.
In the same way, after the downlink data of UE 2 is weighted using a weight vector and passes
through the channel of UE 1 and reaches UE 1, interference is mutually cancelled in the
horizontal direction and the vertical direction, and there is no signal energy. UE 2 does not cause
interference to UE 1.

Deployment of D-MIMO for Cells with Different PCIs - Activation
Observation (Cluster Status and Cluster Calibration Status)
Step 1 Run the DSP CELL and LST CELL commands to check the cell status of the D-MIMO cluster. The cells in the D-
MIMO cluster are working properly if both of the following conditions are met in the command outputs:
 The value of the Cell instance state parameter is Normal in the DSP CELL command output, indicating that the
cells have been activated.
 The value of the Work Status parameter is Normal in the DSP CELL command output for all the RRUs, indicating
that the RRUs are working properly.
Step 2 Run the DSP DMIMOCLUSTERCELL command to check the cell status of the D-MIMO cluster. The D-MIMO cluster
is working properly if the DMIMO Cluster Cell Status parameter is DMIMO_STATUS_NORMAL.
Step 3 Run the DSP DMIMOCALIBRATION command to check the channel calibration status of the D-MIMO cluster.
Channel calibration is successful in the D-MIMO cluster if the value of the DMIMO Calibration Result parameter is
Success.
Step 4 Run the DSP CELLCALIBRATION command to check the calibration result.
If the value of the Calibration Result parameter is Success, the cell channel calibration
status is normal.
