INTRODUCTION • The traditional societal perspective of domestic violence, as evidenced by legal, medical and statistical data, involves the notion of men engaging in the domestic abuse of their female partner or spouse. • It is on rare occasions that we speak on men being ill-treated in a relationship. Thus, making it extremely hard to acknowledge that male spousal abuse is a serious issue. • Through this research, we want to analyse whether there is equal protection regarding domestic violence towards men in Malaysia? These statistics are accentuated is not as means to criticize in any way domestic violence against women. This research is intended to draw attention that anyone can be a victim of domestic violence and everyone who needs protection deserves access to it • We also hope through this research it will encourage male victims of domestic violence to start fighting for their proper rights. CONCLUSION • In conclusion, legality speaking, there is equal protection in Malaysia regarding domestic violence towards men but, realistically, there is no equal protection either physically or mentally for male victims due to societal stigma in our country. • From all the reports, it can be deduced that the domestic violence among the men are quite worrying and actions must be taken to avert it. Even though the number of cases reported on domestic violence against men are lesser than the women, we should not neglect their rights as male also deserve to be treated as a human being. • Thus, we hope that through this research, it will educate the public on acknowledging that male victims of domestic violence is not a joke and must be taken into the same amount of consideration and care as given for female victims of domestic violence in Malaysia.
