• The SavOx chemical
oxygen kit is designed as
a self rescue kit for
situations of irrespirable
atmosphere
• It is light weight and can
be donned quickly and
easily
• It delivers demand
controlled oxygen for up
to 30 minutes in escape
conditions.

• The kit comes in a pre-

sealed tin that is easily
identifiable from other
equipment

• The kit contains
 Chemical oxygen bag
 Breathing tube with
mouth piece
 Neck strap
 Nose clip
 Goggles
 SavOx
• The kit is worn around
the waste on a belt
• The equipment must be
worn when operatives
are entering a Confined
Space(CS)
• Upon entry to a CS the
kits are for individual
use and not to be
shared.

• Donning the SavOx
 If possible hold your breath
 Open the tin using the catch
at the top and allow the
front section to fall away
 Unwind the neck strap from
around the bag
 Place the breathing tube in
your mouth and start to
breath normally through
your mouth
 Apply the nose clip
 Pass the neck strap over
your head and allow the kit
to hang
 Apply the goggles
 Fasten the waste band at
the bottom of the bag
around your waste
 Make your way immediately
out of the area to a place of
safety.

• The SavOx kit will provide approximately 30
minutes of on demand oxygen in an escape
situation
• In a situation where a person is at rest
(waiting for rescue) the set will provide
approximately 3 hours of demand oxygen
• Do not open the SavOx sets unless in an
emergency situation.
