CHP SYSTEM OF STAGE-1&2
The coal handling plant is divided into four groups. They
are-
Stage#1
Area – Track Hopper # 1 to 200 bunker including S/R#1
Stream and reclaiming cycle .
Capacity – 2000 tph
Bunkers - 18 nos (3 x 6) , Maximum Capacity- 390 MT ,
- size 7 m dia x 9.2 m ht.
Track Hopper – 200 m length & Capacity – 3200 MT.
Commisioned on – 1982/ 83

Stage# 2 (500 MW side)


Track Hopper Capacity – 2000 TPH , Bunker Capacity-890
MT (9x3)
Area -Conv#7 A/B to 17 A/B of stage -2 bunker area.
Commisioned- 1987/88
Stage#2 extension
Capacity- 2000 TPH
Area- 10A/B, 11B, S/R#2, 12A/B (TP9, TP8)
Commisioned- June 1989
Augmentation

TRACK HOPPER
There are two track hoppers in NTPC Korba each of 3200 MT.
Track Hopper#1 is 200m long and is covered with grill and is
used for receiving both indian and imported coal.
Track Hopper#2 is not covered with grills and is used only
for receiving domestic coal.

The function of vibro feeder and grizzly feeder is to uniformly


feed the coal by using the vibrating mechanism .

Made of diff. Layers or piles of fabric duck with rubber
protected by a rubber cover on both sides & edges.
Fabric duck are designed to withstand tension created in
carrying the load .
Nylon rubber cover protect the fabric duck.

Material =fire resistant

Belt speed=3.2-3 m/s.

IDLERS

Idlers consists essentially of rolls made out of seamless


steel tubes enclosed fully at each end fitted with
stationary shaft, antifriction bearing and laybrith sealing.

TYPES

TROUGHING IDLERS- shape the belt to support a


moving load without spillage or damage to the belt.

IMPACT IDLERS - absorb the shock of falling material


at loading and transfer points to protect belt from
damage.
POSITIVE ACTION TROUGHING TRAINERS –
automatically maintain troughing side alignment in
one-way conveyors. A center pivot frame and offset
neutral guide rolls provide the troughing action.

RETURN IDLERS –
support the empty belt during the return run.

POSITIVE ACTION RETURN TRAINERS –


automatically maintain return belt alignment on one-
way
conveyors.
PULLEYS

Made of mild steel.
