Vent valves

General characteristics
• Triple offset butterfly valve
The opening and closing path of the triple offset disk
type minimizes contact with the seal ring, thereby
reduce seal wear, friction and seating torque
requirements.
• Shutoff class
These valves seal shall be Class VI per ANSI/FCI 70-2
and IEC 60534-4.
• Fail last position
With this safety position there are no false trips
because in case of electrical or air failure the valve
remains in the last position.
• Air buffer tank for two strokes
In case of lack of air this buffer tank will assure at
least two complete strokes of the valve.
• 4 ways solenoid valve
The solenoid valve shall be 4 ways type with position IA Buffer Tank with capacity for
latched and 2 coils. for 2 complete valve stroke

• Maximum travel time

These valves shall have a maximum travel time of 5 AT M.
seconds to open, therefore air tubing shall be in 1/2’’
and if necessary a quick exhaust shall be included. IA Supply

• SIL certification
All the shutoff valve components like solenoid,
actuator, valve body and position switches shall be
SIL certified when connected to a Safety
Instrumented System.
Vent valves
Reason to use this type of valves
• The seal material construction can be metal or soft seal, the shutoff class as per ANSI/FCI 70-2 and IEC 60534-4
can be Class VI or better.
• Metal seals can support process agressive conditions like high temperature, metallic dust , higher velocities,
etc.
• The opening and closing path of the triple offset disk type minimizes contact with the seal ring, thereby reduce
seal wear, friction and seating torque requirements increasing the lifetime of the seal.
• The leading manufacturers have at least one triple offset butterfly model in their catalogs (Fisher, Metso,
Samson, Flowserve, Bray, Tyco, etc).

Warnings
• The CV values in triple offset valves are smaller than the double offset valves, this shall be forseen for the
dimensioning of the venting pipeline.

Blocking valves (main pipelines)
General characteristics
• Double offset butterfly valve
The size shall be the same of the line to minimize
pressure drop through body. The installation shall be
in such manner that once the valve is closed the high
pressure side helps to the disk to keep in close
position.
• Shutoff class
These valves seal shall be Class VI per ANSI/FCI 70-2
and IEC 60534-4.

Blocking valves (main pipelines)
Reason to use this type of valves
• This type of valves are used in main pipelines of the reduction circuit, in high production plants these valves
can be up to 42’’ size, this kind of valve is affrodable in cost for larger sizes than other valves.
• The seal material construction can be metal or soft seal, the shutoff class as per ANSI/FCI 70-2 and IEC 60534-4
can be Class VI or better.
• Metal seals can support process agressive conditions like high temperature, metallic dust , higher velocities,
etc.
• The contact between the disk and seal is minimum.
