Front Board
 UMP: Universal Management Process Board
 UMP can act as two logical boards after it is loaded with two different kinds of
software.
 Physical board: SBCJ
 Memory: 24G
 Hardware: 600G SAS*2
 Function of OMM: NE operation and maintenance. OMM is connected to the switch
through the Ethernet port of the EGBS rear board, and the switch is then connected
to EMS server and operation & maintenance client respectively.
 Function of OMP: OMP is used to process global information related processes. It
also controls the operation and maintenance of the whole system, and is connected
to OMM through the internal user plane.
 Supports 1+1 back up.

Introduction to OMM
 OMM consists of two parts: OMMR and OMMB
 OMMR manages ZXUR 9000. it is used to maintain the configuration data of ZXUR
9000, collect performance data, and display alarms data.
 OMMB manages Node B. Its function is similar to that of OMMR, i.e., daily
maintenance of Node B.
 After the application programs of OMMR and OMMB are started, the provide ftp
services separately and are used to connect different NEs. They visit different
database instances, and are bound with different logical Ethernet ports.
 Conventions of OMM Installation
 All OMM application programs must be installed under the /home directory.
 In the process installing OMM, the path for setting related database files must be
created under the /oracledata directory.
 It is recommended that OMMR be installed under the /home/omm/ZXUOMCR/
directory, and OMMB be installed under the /home/omm/ZXUOMCB/ directory. If
two or more OMMBs are installed, please create new folders under the /home/omm
directory. DO NOT install OMM processes under directories other than the /home
directory.
 Install OMM as the root user.

Logservice Overview
OMM & Logservice Software Installation
Internal Use Only▲

Introduction to Logservice
 Main functions of LogService: collects RNC logs, realtime tracing data, or
network optimization data, and saves them as data files as required, so as to
prevent large amounts of print and tracing data being sent to OMM to affect
system performance. These data can be used by maintenance engineers to
improve the fault-locating speed and capability. They can also be used by
network optimization engineers to perform statistical analysis and perform
network optimization. Besides, network optimization data, after being analyzed
and processed, can be provided for the operator as the support data for
capacity expansion decision and other decisions.
 Logservice is integrated with the functions of OMMHOST. It can be used to
mange the IP used by OMM and monitor OMM operation state.
 Conventions of LogService installation:
 Installation directory: /home/zte/logservice/
 User: root

UMP (OMM) Factory Setting

 CGSL V3.01.12 64-bit Linux OS is installed
 Logservice is installed, and it needs to be upgraded according to the
planning version before commissioning.
 oracle 10.2.0.4.0 is installed.
 There are five database instances installed:
v4omcr/gomcb/gultomcb/tomb/womcb
 Username and password have been created in the OS:
 root/root123
 omm/Omm_123(/home/omm)
 oracle/Oracle_123
 zte/Zte_1234
 The following service are available: VNC, SSH, FTP, and telnet
 The default accessible to external users: 119.0.100.100
Internal Use Only▲

Software to Be Installed
 OMMR for OMCR
 OMMB for OMCB
 Logservice (integrated with the master/slave OMM function)
Internal Use Only▲

OMM & Logservice Software Installation

1. IP Address Planning
 Perform IP planning about the IP for EMS to access OMM and the IP for VNC to
access OMM.
 Configure internal control-plane IP, user-plane IP, and master/slave Ethernet port
IP as the default IP in the Ethernet port configuration file released with Logservice
version package, i.e., NetIf.conf and LogNetIf.conf. It is not necessary to
modify the user.
2. Install Logservice software and modify relevant configuration file
 Check and stop the Logservice program
 Uninstall the Logservice software installed before OMM delivery, and install the
latest version of Logservice.
 Modify RNC ID in the Version.conf configuration file.
 Configure the LogProcConfig.conf file: modify the configuration of log
application process by product. Add “#” before the configuration of a product to
invalidate the configuration and delete “#” before the configuration of a product to
validate the configuration.
 If Logservice is running, after the configuration file is modified, Logservice must be
stopped and started again to make the modification take effect.

OMM & Logservice Software Installation

3. Execute and set OMM environment parameters related script
 When this script after Logservice is installed, the following configuration can be finished
automatically.
 Set hostname automatically according to the position of EGBS, i.e., left board or right board.

 Set the IP configuration related to the master/slave channel automatically according to the
position of EGBS, i.e., left board or right board.

 Set port mapping: 20021 mapped as 21, and 20123 mapped as 123.

 Set oracle related configuration for auto-start, including database, listener, and tnsname.

 Shut down the ARP agent function.

 Modify the OS auto-startup services.

 Set operation & maintenance VNC IP, and the two IPs connecting OMMR and OMMB with
EMS.

 Set NTP clock server.

OMM & Logservice Software Installation

3. Execute and set OMM environment parameters related script

 Set parameters of the script files

 omm_conf.py
1)Set board position: left board or right board
2)Configure OMM (OMMR and OMMB) IPs and VNC IP
3)Configure database instance auto-start and OMM auto-start and the related Listener
and tnsname files.
4)Set NTP clock server
 ommlib.py: This configuration item is optional. By default, relevant services have
been started in the Linux OS. If this item is not configured, which services to be
enabled by default after OS startup can be set by modifying the configuration file.
True indicate the service is enabled and False indicates the service is disabled.

 Open the directory of the script and execute the script with the #python
omm_conf.py command.

 Restart the system after the script execution finishes.

restarted.
 Check whether the tnsname.ora file of oracle is configured correctly.
 System parameters check
 Check the configuration of the /etc/hosts file.
 Check whether the ARP agent is shut down.
 Check the /etc/host.conf file.
 Check port mapping.
