Guide for using BC Sets in F&R 5.1

The utilization of Business Configuration Sets (BC Sets) enables you to apply the customizing in a
safe and transparent way to your client.
To import or export BC Sets into a system, the user can use the download / upload functionality
provided in the transaction SCPR3:

Select: ‘_FRE_STORE_51.bcs’
Button: [Save]

Upload:
Button [UPLOAD BC SETS]

Path: <Path> (Path where BC Sets are located )

Select: ‘_FRE_STORE_51.bcs’
Button: [OPEN]
Message: “Object can only be created in package of namespace /FRE/” possibly appears.
If Object is not there, create it from T-code SE80
Button [ENTER]
Package: ‘/FRE/BIF’
Button [SAVE]
Warning appears….
Button [ENTER]
Repeat combination Button [SAVE] and Button [ENTER] several times.
Button [SAVE] (When the BC Sets are uploaded)

To activate the customizing contained in a BC Set, execute in general the following these steps:

Activation of language:
TA: SU01
User: <User>
Button [CHANGE]
Tabstrip: [PARAMETERS]
Parameter ID: ‘CP13’
Parameter value: <value>e.g Def for standard languages
Button [SAVE]

Call transaction SCPR20 (SAP Menu  Tools  Customizing  Business

Configuration Sets Activation of BC – Sets).

Enter the name of the BC Set (or hierarchy) (1) and press button [Activate] (2). If there are entries
marked as variable in the BC Set, a popup window opens that displays all variable values. Change them
as needed (3) and confirm the entry with [Apply Values] (4). A detailed log of the changed settings can
be displayed after the activation. In an empty system, it must not contain errors (exception cp. below),
several warnings are normal.

Activate the following BC Sets (5.1) in this exact order and enter into the variable fields.

Activate /FRE/STORE_51/GENERAL_SETTINGS
Activate /FRE/STORE_51/INSTALL
Activate /FRE/STORE_51/LATE_ACTIVATION

These BC Sets are hierarchical and have dependencies. Therefore they must be activated in the
correct sequence to ensure consistency. Please refer to the Configuration Guide if any further
guidance is required.

In the case of errors during the activation (please check the activation logs in transaction SCPR20),
the user can manually enter the Customizing (transaction SPRO) to enter the settings and ensure
that the values were correctly loaded. The user can search the respective BC Set in the
Configuration Guide and make the necessary changes.
