• Defined as a communication in which the


writer provides information to some individuals /
organization because it is his responsibility to do
so

•To give information about a company’s
activities and plans
•To record event for future references
•To recommend a specific action

Title Page
Includes the following:
1) The heading
2) The name and affiliation of the authors
3) The Department and date of issue

The writer of the report should thank everyone
associated with the assignment and
preparation of the report
Express gratitude
Table of contents
Page nos. in the report
Hierarchy of topics and their sequence

Abstract and Executive Summary


Comes immediately after the list of tables
It should give:-
• The context of report
• Provide the most important findings, conclusions,
and recommendations
• Should act as a time saver for busy management
exec
Discussion and Analysis of findings
Discussing each event step by step, the
cumulative effect of a variable can be seen

Appendix
Used to give a variety of information separately
