 PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED SITE VISIT 01:

PROBLEM 01:
• Hanging Of clothes outside
• Social Stigma leads to washing and drying of
undergarments and clothes inside the house even in
closed community and thus affecting interior living
atmosphere
• Wet Clothes drying outside slowly making otla space used
for sitting and social interaction less used and effective
• The Clothes hanging outside ruin the heritage and culture
of pol This POL itself is 100 Years OLD

PROPOSAL/POSSIBILITY OF SOLUTIONS:
• Ways to Hang Clothes Outside to Utilise the most important
social interaction space in pol house typology which are
the OTLAS
PROBLEM 02:
• Roofs of the house made of Metal Sheet,Earlier Were attic
spaces,Now as family increase and they expanded their
rooms,These Spaces have problems oF HEATING UP & too
Much Sound Of Rain
• Putting Organic waste Mats each year again and again
increases costs and when it rots it causes problems of
mosquito and insects infestation
PROBLEM 03:
• Runoff Water from Roofs
totally going waste into
drain
• Pol Has an Existing Raised
Tank to Store water which
due to no maintenance is
rendered useless
• High Maintenance /start costs
make it unusable/hygienic
conditions also
• Using Cheap and
effective rainwater
harvesting methods to
help the water supply

• RO PURIFIER WATER WASTAGE AND NO AWARENESS HOW TO USE
• TOPIC APPLICABLE TO POLS TO MODERN LIVING APARTMENTS
AND SOCIETIES OF ALL CLASSES
• AVAILABLE SPACE TO STORE WATER IF IT IS REALLY USEFUL
• PEOPLE HAVE A MISCONCEPTION THAT RO WATER FILTERED HAS
TOO MUCH SALT ETC. IS HARMFUL FOR HEALTH AND IS NOT

ISSUE & SCOPE:

• BIGGEST GLOBAL CRISIS THAN ECCNOMY ETC. IS WATER
• RO WATER PURIFIER THROWS OUT 3 TO 4 LITRES WATER PER 1 LITR
OF WATER STORED
• IN A FAMILY OF 3 MEMBERS RO PURIFIER REFILLS 3 TIMES A DAY
THAT IS WASTAGE OF 10 LITRES OF WATER =APPROX 1 BUCKET

PROBLEMS SOLUTION PROPOSAL 1:

PROPOSAL/POSSIBILITY OF SOLUTIONS:
• Cheap hangers can be used which can go up via pulley
• More efficiently drying of clothes
• Wooden louvere shade matching to façade to conserve
natural heritage of the site
 PROBLEMS SOLUTION PROPOSAL 2:

PROPOSAL/POSSIBILITY OF SOLUTIONS:
• Roof covering with coconut coir and recyclable plastic
mesh wires for long time and low cost roofing and usage of
waste industry at the same time

• Using Cheap R.C. Hollow shell tanks to conserve water
• Using the water for Hydroponics
• Hydroponics farming proposal cheap using pvc pipes can
save upto 100rs. Per month to local people or more
