community can be undermined if secrecy
surrounds the payment of mining taxes to the
government or the benefits shared at the
local level.

• Illegal mining should be banned in the country and also open
pit mining
• Rehabilitation should be carried out properly in the area where
the mining is located after the contract
• The DENR must ensure that the mining industry complies with
the mining policy
• Before they decided to mine a particular area, they must
consider some factors like, the mine site is far from people,
etc…
• If possible, DENR and the big mining corporation will work
together to achieve the so-called “Responsible mining”
