 Nickname

 Field of Interest. If graduating, what is your EE

190/198 topic?
 Short discussion per topic then hands-on
exercises

 Exercises are done by groups of three to four

members each.
 Lab fees only cover the USE of the lab equipment. It
does not cover misuse, abuse, or negligence thereof.

 If you mishandle equipment (deliberately, negligently,

or ignorantly), you shall receive grade demerits, a
failing grade, and/or suspension, depending on the
gravity of the offense.

 Ignorance is inexcusable.
 It is highly recommended that you have a
access to a computer with MS Excel or similar
software for data analysis.
Avoid working alone at all costs.
 Food and/or drinks are not allowed inside the
lab. You can eat outside if you want.

 Clean your workspace before leaving. Return all

used equipment to their proper places.

 If possible, come to class prepared, sober, and

well-rested.

 Laboratory experiments are done by group and data is shared with
the whole class for report writing. Reports are done by group.
 Each report should contain the following at the minimum: (i)
abstract, (ii) introduction, (iii) various subsections on important
concepts; each subsection discusses the data gathering process,
data analysis, and discussions, (iv) summary of key findings, and (v)
reflection.
 The EE 146 portfolio is a compilation of Reports 1 to 6 in an e-book
format. A “preface” should be added to discuss your key learnings in
EE 146 and a position paper. The details of the “preface” are to
follow.

 FINAL GRADE. Your grade is equal to your total
accumulated points divided by the total points.

 ATTENDANCE. Attendance will be checked

during exercises and project demonstrations.
You will receive a grade of zero if you are absent
during the exercise or project demonstrations.
Per University Rules, if a student misses three (3) or
more laboratory meetings, he/she shall drop the
subject, else be given a grade of 5.00
Attendance will be checked after 15 minutes of
the scheduled start of class.
 LATE SUBMISSIONS. Report submissions are via
UVLE. Submissions made outside the designated
UVLE submission bin are considered late and will
automatically merit a grade of zero.

 INCOMPLETE. You will be given a grade of INC if

you fail to submit a working DP or your portfolio
containing the preface and the six reports. This is,
of course, provided that you have a passing
standing. Otherwise, you will receive a grade of
5.0.
 Check the rating of the equipment before
connecting it to a power source.

 Wear sensible clothes and footwear.

 Make sure that power sources are turned off

before wiring your circuits or before changing
your circuit connections.
 Double-check your connections before
powering your circuit.

 Be wary of loose connections or faulty

equipment.

 Use proper judgment to use the lab equipment

appropriately and properly.
