Assessments Given for Grade 5 DIBELS
• Oral Reading Fluency – Testing the
number of words correct per minute
(Scheffel, Lefly, & Houser, 2012).
• Retell – One minute retell of the
passage (Munger, LoFaro., Kawryga,
Sovocool, & Medina, 2014).
• Daze – Picking words from banks to
implement in sentences Morris &
Trathen, 2017).
Results of the Assessments
• Oral Reading Fluency – Jimmy scored a 49 (benchmark 121) with an
accuracy percentage of 92% (average 98%).

• Retell - Jimmy scored a 28 (benchmark 33) with a retell quality of 2


(benchmark 2).

• Daze – Jimmy scored a 3 (benchmark 18).


Analysis of Assessments
• Jimmy scored well below
benchmark for a majority
of his probes.
• Scores indicate a that Jimmy
could benefit from some
assistance.
