Participating in a Debate
The key component in a debate is clash.
Two sides have opposing views on a topic, usually
called the “motion.”
Representatives from each side present arguments to
convince the judge (or adjudicator)that their
perspective is better than the other.
Though only one side is declared the winner at the
end of the debate, representatives from both sides
will benefit greatly if they keep an open mind to all
the arguments presented.
