 A study to assess the effectiveness of

structured teaching programme on


knowledge regarding prevention of cervical
cancer among GNM students at The
Salvation Army Catherine Booth School of
Nursing, Kanya kumari district, Tamil Nadu.
 To assess the existing level of knowledge
regarding prevention of cervical cancer
among GNM students.
 To evaluate the effectiveness of structured
teaching programme regarding prevention of
Cervical Cancer among GNM students.
 To find the association between pre test
knowledge scores regarding prevention of
cervical cancer among GNM students with
their selected demographic variables.
 H1 : There will be a significant difference
between pre test and post test knowledge
scores of GNM students regarding prevention
of cervical cancer.
 H2: There will be a significant association
between pre test knowledge scores of GNM
students regarding prevention of cervical
cancer with their selected demographic
variables.
ASSESS
It is a act of estimating or judging the
level of knowledge regarding prevention of
cervical cancer.
EFFECTIVENESS
If refers to desired changes brought
by the structured teaching programme on
prevention of cervical cancer among GNM
students.
KNOWLEDGE
If means the correct responses given by
GNM students prevention of cervical cancer in
structured knowledge questionnaire.
 GNM students may have less knowledge
regarding prevention of cervical cancer.
 Structured teaching programme may increase
the knowledge level regarding prevention of
cervical cancer among GNM students.
 Health education programme may helps to
modify the behaviour and adopt healthy life
style practices among GNM students.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
 Research approach:
Quantitative research approach will
be used in this study.
 Research design:
The research design adopted for
this study will be one group pre test post
test design(pre experimental design).
 The study will be conducted at The Salvation
Army School of
Nursing,Nagercoil,Kanyakumari district.
Dependent variable
Knowledge regarding prevention of cervical
cancer GNM students.
Independent variable
Structured teaching programme regarding
prevention of cervical cancer among GNM
students.
Attributed variable
Demographic variable such as age religion
family income per month type of family and
source of information regarding prevention of
cervical cancer.

 Student who are not willing to pratice


 Structured knowledge questionaire
will be used to collect data from GNM
students.
Structured interview schedule will
be adopted by the research to collect the data
from student
