Fourier Series Theorem
• Thus it overcomes the demerit of the Fourier series that deals only with
periodic signals. Fourier transform can be developed by finding the fourier
series of a periodic function and tending ‘T’ to infinity.

Types of Fourier Transform
1. Linearity:
2. Time Shift:
3. Frequency shift:
4. Time and Frequency Scaling:
5. Convolution Theorems:
The convolution theorem states that convolution in time domain corresponds to multiplication
in frequency domain and vice versa:
Discrete Time Fourier Transform

5. Convolution Theorems:
The convolution theorem states that convolution in time domain corresponds to multiplication
in frequency domain and vice versa:
5. Frequency Differentiation:
This property states that:
6. Scaling:
The scaling property can be expressed as:
• The Fourier transform (FT) can decompose a function of time (a signal) into the
frequencies that make it up.
• The most important use of the Fourier transformation is to solve partial differential
equations.
• All the wireless and non-wireless communication in the world relies on Fourier
Transform.
