Pump calculation

Pump calculation
We can known the perfect pump that we
needed by knowing

1-the Discharge flow rate ( Qp )

2-the required Head from the pump ( Hp )

 before we make the calculation of the pump we need to

know some parameter
Material used in the Project
1. Pipe (pp)
absolute roughness ( ε = 0.035 )
Pipe diameter ( ND 1 inch = 25 mm )
 (inner Diameter = 18 mm )

 Online link
2- Pipe fitting

we will use fitting like

 Elbow 90° (Coefficient of Loss κ = 1.50 )
 Four Way Fitting(Coefficient of Loss κ = 2.10 )
 Ball Valve (Coefficient of loss k = 0.50 )
 Equal Tee (Coefficient of loss k = 1.2 )

3- nozzle
we will use Lance Jet I
 Lance Jet I
 Connection G 1” M
 Outlet diameter φ = 12 mm
 The Spray height = 1.5 m
 Nozzle discharge Qn = 45 l/min = 750 𝑐𝑚3 /s
=2.7𝑚3 /h

4- solenoid valve
 We will use 3/4 inch electric solenoid valve powered by 12-Volt
DC will Kv = 0.5

Working voltage DC12V

Maximum current 500 mA

Calculation of pump discharge
 Qp = QN +Qa+ Qb
QN : flow discharge for
Nozzles (Qn = 2.7 𝑚3 /h)
We used 3 nozzles
QN = 3 × Qn = 3 × 2.7 = 8.1 𝑚3 /h
 Qa = Qb

A and B )
