PHASES OF AN EARTHQUAKE DRILL

3. EVACUATION
Once the shaking stops:
 Be alert.
 Listen to teacher’s instructions.
 Walk out of the classroom in an orderly manner.
 While walking along the corridors to the nearest exit of the
building, be alert and look out for falling debris.
 DON’T RUN. DON’T PUSH. DON’T TALK. DON’T RETURN.
DON’T bring your things.
 Quietly but quickly proceed to the designated evacuation area
for the class using the pre-determined routes and wait for
further instruction from the teacher.
 NEVER go back to the building once you are outside.
Buildings should be inspected by engineers for possible
damage after an earthquake. Students should stay in the open
area and wait for their parents’ guardians to pick them up.

EMERGENCY SUPPLY KIT

critical. Electricity, fuel, water,
telephone or mobile lines may not be
working. Public safety services and
private rescue teams may not be able to
reach you immediately during a serious

 Each person should be prepared to be
self-reliant and able to survive for at
least three days following a disaster.
What is an emergency supply kit?
An emergency supply kit is a bag that contains the

 The kit should be checked every six months to
make sure that the goods nearing expiration are
changed and that stored water is replaced to
maintain its freshness and effectiveness.
 It should be practical that you can carry it with you

 It is also important to prepare a kit for each
member of your family who is able to carry one.
