How 3D materials impact in English
teaching lesson
PUPPET
example: Teacher uses puppet in the
classroom during story-telling time.

• Puppets captures children's attention and

hold their interest.
• Children respond positively to puppets (in
general, and particularly, shy children).
• Puppets provide an outlet for children's
creativity and self-expression.
• Children remember the story or event when
puppets are included.
• Puppetry encourages language development
and practice.
RELIA
example: Teacher brings a real kitten/cat to the class to
attract pupils’ attention.

• Kinesthetic learning is the type of learning that

students will most effectively acquire, mostly because
they will have hands-on experience.
• The use of realia brings a welcoming change in the
class, a break from typical class activities like reading
and writing.
• The unexpected-ness of having to suddenly interact
with real objects will keep students on their toes; it
will create excitement, and they’ll have fun.
• Students have the chance to look at, touch and feel
the actual animal that is being taught in the story.

PICTURE
DICTIONARY
example: Teacher teaches new vocabulary
using pictionary.

• Picture dictionary gives pupils a better

picture of what they are learning. They will
learn about the term, and also how it looks
like.
• Promotes memory retention. (pictures +
words)
• It helps students to get more clear vision of
the lesson as photos can show everything
easily.
• Picture dictionary also helps students
visually see the difference between two or
more things.
FLASH CARDS
example: Teacher uses flash cards in teaching
English lesson to make classroom become more
fun.

• Flash cards help students to boost up their

imaginations.
• Flash cards eliminate extraneous material as
they focus on only the most important elements
of what students need to learn.
• Flash cards prevent students from simply
memorizing the order of the answers in long-list
items.
• Flash cards also help teacher to make the
teaching and learning session easier as the
teacher can easily teach the students
vocabulary, spelling and etc.
