 Example of Opinion

•I am not very interested in television. Watching TV is

one way to pass the time when you are bored and
have nothing else to do
•Working on Sunday is a bad idea. We already work
Monday through Saturday. Everyone is tired after a six-

Justified and Unjestified Opinions

When we have identified that a statement is an opinion,

then we will have to evaluate whether the author's opinion
is justified or not. If someone states an opinion, he/she
usually wants the readers (or listeners) to believe him/her,
to agree with him/her. To convince the readers, he/she
has to provide acceptable reasons or facts that support
his/her opinion
EXAMPLE OF JUSTIFIED

Dina : I am hungry .
Dini : Are you hungry ? let’s go to the restaurant . you
have to eat rice first ok, because you haven’t
eaten anything this morning.
Dina : ok , that’s good idea.

That is JUSTIFIED OPINION

EXAMPLE OF UNJUSTIFIED

Dina : I am hungry .
Dini : Are you hungry ? let’s go to the restaurant .
you have to try the new menu in this
restaurant, meetball. because this taste is
very delicious
Dina : Sorry, i haven’t eaten rice this morning,
i’m afraid if a get stomachache

That is UNJUSTIFIED OPINION
