Three-Sentence Stories
6th Grade

Learning Standard: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.6.3:


Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using
effective technique, relevant descriptive details, and well-structured event
sequences.

Learning Goal: Students will be able to incorporate all three sentence


types in a piece of writing.

What is “Three-Sentence Stories”?
• Three-Sentence Stories are ones that tell a story using three of the
four different types of sentences. When writing with varying
sentence types you are adding voice and increasing the readers
interest.
